"Came here recently on a Sunday afternoon. Hadn't dined here in a few years. The place is definitely showing it's age. It has an old school Mexican household vibe and hasn't been kept up very well. Waited about 10min to be seated. Received the complimentary chips and salsa and our drinks shortly after. Then menu has definitely changed a bit from what I remember and the prices. Oh boy those have also risen , just like everything else these days. I would say that the prices are way higher than you would expect them to be and higher than most Mexican restaurants. We ordered the questions funding with chorizo to start. Which is pretty much the same as I remember it. But with a way higher price tag. $20.95 for a pretty small portion of melted cheese with a few crumbles of chorizo on top. The homemade tortillas it's served with are the highlight! I always loved how they serve it on a stand with a lit candle underneath to keep it warm and to prevent the cheese from seizing up. Couldn't really decide on what I wanted and ended up ordering the Tacos al carbon. It says the meat is "Prime" but I would beg to differ. It comes with "2" homemade tortillas of your choosing. A small sidebof some whole beans with some bacon and a side of rice and a plate filler of some lettuce, red onion and a slice of tomato. Paid $26.95 for that and my lady had the "2" hardware shell taco plate. That came with watered down refried beans, rice and the same plate filler. That was $20! Food was OK and nothing was worth the over inflated prices. I don't think I'll ever be back here again. Just can't justify paying those prices for we received."

"Absolutely one of the best authentic Mexican food in LA. We dined here first time and were so excited to have found this gem. Easy parking, good size restaurant even if you have big party. I'm very familiar with Mexican food and been to many restaurants, large and small and this one feels just right. Small town restaurant but taste like a gourmet high class place. We tried the pozole and the pork ribs with cactus. Both were out of this world! Very tasty, very good portion. Not too large where you can't finish and have to pack to go. The pozole was cooked to perfection. The pork ribs just melts in your mouth, it went very well with cactus and the sauce. Their cocktails are just as fantastic. Service was like family style. Nothing too fancy but very attentive. You must try it. You won't be disappointed."

"Thanks to my sister Pamela for her lunch recommendation. We had a great lunch and the food was delicious and their service was excellent. My Wife, my Sister, her two sons and my nephew's wife. We were preparing for our Dad's Family viewing that afternoon at Oakdale Memorial Park. We celebrated a life well lived for Clifton Glass the following day."
